At Kingdom Dance Academy, we believe that the right dress code supports safety, discipline, confidence, and unity. Each class style has specific guidelines to ensure that instructors can properly assess technique and that students can move confidently and comfortably. Class-by-Class Dress Code Breakdown

Every class has specific guidelines to support clean technique and consistency across our studio. Below, we have listed out the Girls (left column), Boys and Adults (right column) dress code. 

Girls Dress Code
  • Ballet: Pink tights, leotard, pink ballet or pointe shoes, hair in ballet bun, bangs pulled back
  • Pointe: Pink tights, leotard, pointe shoes, hair in ballet bun, bangs pulled back
  • Jazz: Tan tights or no tights, form-fitted dancewear, tan jazz shoes. Hair pulled back in ponytail or bun, bangs pulled back.
  • Lyrical: Tan tights or no tights, form-fitted dancewear, pirouette shoes. Hair in ponytail or bun, bangs pulled back.
  • Contemporary: Tan tights or no tights, form-fitted dancewear, dance socks. Hair pulled back in ponytail or bun, bangs pulled back.
  • Musical Theater: Tan tights or no tights, form-fitted dancewear, tan jazz shoes. Hair pulled back in ponytail or bun, bangs pulled back.
  • Aerial Silks & Lyra: No loose clothing or midriffs. Form-fitted shirt or leotard. No bare thighs — wear tight leggings or shorts with tights. Bare feet. No makeup or jewelry.
  • Ballet/Jazz: Pink or tan tights, leotard, pink ballet shoes AND tan jazz shoes. Hair in bun or ponytail, bangs pulled back.
  • Lyrical/Jazz: Tan tights or no tights, leotard or form-fitted dancewear, tan pirouettes AND tan jazz shoes. Hair in bun or ponytail, bangs pulled back.
  • Tiny Dancers: Pink or tan tights, leotard, pink ballet shoes AND tan tap shoes. Hair in bun or ponytail, no hair in face.
Boys Dress Code
  • Ballet: Black jazz pants, fitted white shirt, black ballet shoes.
  • Jazz: Black jazz pants or black dance shorts, fitted shirt, black jazz shoes.
  • Lyrical: Black jazz pants or black dance shorts, fitted shirt, pirouette shoes.
  • Contemporary: Black jazz pants or black dance shorts, fitted shirt, dance socks.
  • Musical Theater: Black jazz pants or black dance shorts, fitted shirt, black or tan jazz shoes.
  • Aerial Silks & Lyra: No loose clothing. Form-fitted shirt, leggings or shorts with tights. Bare feet. No jewelry.
  • Tiny Dancers (Boys): Black jazz pants, fitted white shirt, black ballet shoes AND black tap shoes.
Adult Dress Code
  • Adult Ballet: Comfortable dancewear (leotards, tights, t-shirts/shorts). Ballet shoes. Hair pulled back. Pointe optional with instructor approval.
  • Adult Contemporary: Comfortable dancewear. Dance socks or barefoot. Hair off the face.
